WASHINGTON — The Space Force today awarded Virginia-based Sev1Tech an $188 million follow-on production agreement to expand the meshONE-Terrestrial network used by the Department of the Air Force’s Battle Network.
According to a press release from Space Force’s Space Systems Command (SSC), its Tactical C3 Acquisition Delta, the division responsible for advancing operational and tactical command and control capabilities, awarded the IT and cybersecurity firm the contract to continue its work on developing the meshONE-T network. In 2021, SSC awarded a $46.5 million contract to Sev1Tech to develop a prototype for meshONE-T, then called meshONE.
“Since its prototype phase began in September 2021, meshONE-T has demonstrated significant operational utility for both the USSF and the U.S. Air Force (USAF), laying a strong foundation for this next phase of development,” reads the SSC press release.

MeshONE-T is a software component of the Department of the Air Force’s Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS) initiative. ABMS is a part of the DAF Battle Network, the service’s contribution to the ambitious, Pentagon-wide all-sensing, all-connected Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control (CJADC2) program.
“MeshONE-T contributes to this vision by breaking down data-sharing barriers, ensuring interoperability within the Department of the Air Force’s Battle Network, and facilitating the seamless movement of large volumes of high-performance data,” SSC said.
Since Sev1Tech was awarded the prototype three years ago, SSC has established 17 meshONE-T nodes, Col. Peter Mastro, senior materiel leader for the Tactical C3 Delta told DefenseScoop back in April.

This expansion of Sev1Tech’s contract will expand meshONE-T capabilities to over 85 locations while “enhancing its capabilities with 24/7/365 managed transport services and enterprise-wide upgrades,” the press release stated.
“This contract underscores the strong demand for meshONE-T’s continued expansion, supporting critical mission operations and future system development,” SSC said.
