In a Dec. 6 interview with Breaking Defense at the Reagan National Defense Forum, Rep. Don Bacon (R-Neb.) called the Trump administration’s new National Security Strategy a throwback to “1930s foreign policy,” warned that a one-year, $150 billion plus-up through reconciliation is not enough, and sharply criticized Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s tenure as damaging to US alliances and world standing.
