Col. Robert Davis, program executive officer for SSC's Space Sensing Directorate, told the National Security Space Association today that the SWAC study might affect how follow-on satellites are designed and, perhaps, hardened to radiation.
"The Space Force is not growing in priority as it had been in previous years. The priority is shifting more towards the the Air Force and the Navy in the budget," said Todd Harrison, senior fellow at the American Enterprise Institute.

While almost 20% of overall respondents believe that the Space Force is not effective “at all” at improving space acquisition, there is a major split between views of DoD and industry; just 4% of DoD respondents said Space Force hasn’t helped, while 23% of industry respondents held that view.
"The challenge is taking the data that you want to share — you got to understand it, and how you want to share it — and then write the applications that give you that data quality at the highest level, and compress timelines for those decision makers," said Randy Walden, head of the Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office.
On the space acquisition czar, Rep. Jim Cooper said: "let's not let the politics of the Puzzle Palace dominate here. We can and must figure this out."
