Space Systems Command is prototyping a Joint Antenna Marketplace to offload some of the SCN's burden and expand its capacity by using existing commercial and non-DoD agency antennas, rather than building costly new ones for the network.
"The ubiquitous user terminal that could interoperate across frequency bands and orbits was a key part of [the Space Force's SATCOM Vision], and to date, no one's been able to deliver it," said Ryan Stevenson, Kymeta's chief scientist.
It's been a whirlwind of a year — and the defense establishment has plenty of thoughts on how it's unfolded and what might come next.
