RTX and Northrop are the first major defense companies to declare fourth-quarter 2025 earnings this week, and their approach on dividends could signal how industry at large is interpreting the Jan. 7 executive order.

Losses for the B-21 Raider program now stand at more than $2 billion.
The transaction is expected to close mid-year 2025, the companies said in a statement announcing the deal.
In addition, CEO Kathy Warden says the company sees a chance to sell up to five Triton UAVs to the NATO alliance.

Northrop CEO Kathy Warden did not rule out working on the Air Force's NGAD as a secondary partner, and indicated the company is still interested in the Navy's next-gen fighter.
“When people see the exterior of the B-21, it will be very similar to the B-2,” Kathy Warden said in an interview with Breaking Defense. “The real differences are inside of the platform."
Companies like Raytheon and Northrop Grumman have already increased hiring, anticipating a reduction in its workforce due to the coronavirus vaccine mandate.
