The deal for three submarines is expected to be a 10 billion Polish zloty ($2.52 billion) investment.
The deal, which covers eight AH-64Ds, will serve as a capability bridge until the first of 96 newly-bought Apaches arrive starting in 2028.
Poland's Minister of National Defence, called the deal a “breakthrough purchase” that will allow Poland to “effectively use all the capabilities of these most modern aircraft.”
The SkyGuardian purchase comes months after Kosiniak-Kamysz announced the creation of a so-called “Drone Force,” following the model that Ukraine created earlier this year.
Poland's defense minister teased further deals, saying "The Polish army needs hundreds of thousands of drones, primarily reconnaissance, which will cooperate with Apache helicopters. We are working on this together with the American government.”
Poland will spend $2.55 billion over the next four years to strengthen its borders with Belarus and Kaliningrad, under a new government plan.
