DNI Tulsi Gabbard promised to speed the delivery of intelligence products to users including Congress, stressing that intelligence that "come[s] too late, or it's not providing that complete picture that [the president] needs to be able to make important calls" is "useless."
The new strategy, obtained first by Breaking Defense, presents specific security challenges from threats to communication cables and a limited ability to intervene on the water to maintain maritime security and safety.
Unlike previous conferences designed to provide training, weapons or military hardware, the meeting was centered on finding ways to bolster the cohesion, resilience, and stability of the Lebanese Armed Forces.
That's $6 billion more than previously announced -- but it all comes at the cost of almost 200 cut, cancelled, or slowed-down programs, each with backers in Congress.
