Project Convergence 2024 eBook coverFor several years, the Army has used its Project Convergence exercise to test out key technologies in live scenarios. It turned out however, that the real news happened in the leadup to the event itself. Breaking Defense reporter Ashley Roque was there early, joining the Army’s new No. 2 officer, Vice Chief of Staff Gen. James Mingus, as he traveled out to the event. In his first interview since taking office, Mingus laid out for the Breaking Defense readership his priorities, including a shakeup of how the service does counter-UAS and changes to the network portfolio. He also revealed the fact there are Strykers equipped with directed energy weapons in the Gulf right now.

This eBook collects Roque’s exclusive interview and other news-making stories related to Project Convergence and the Army’s aggressive push into the future. As always, you can find out more about the Army’s modernization push by checking regularly at BreakingDefense.com.
