"I've challenged the team here today: What can we do in terms of looking at next generation requirements? You know, big bets, whether it's in the transport layer, all of our tactical radios, what do we need to do to get the next generation of evolution," Army Undersecretary Gabe Camarillo told reporters.

The TLS-EAB program will have five phases and total about $163 million.

"We have examples in the counter-ISIS fight of combining lethal and non-lethal effects for a much larger holistic effect that I would say had a larger impact than anyone predicted prior to us truly synchronizing our efforts for having an effect on the adversary there," he said.
