Advances in drone simulation bring mission training to quadcopters
The open QGroundControl software for drone control was improved with a fusion engine to integrate sensors and controls.
Moshe Levy, manager of the Military Aircraft Group at IAI, told Breaking Defense that to increase distance and capacity, the quadcopter design will use fuel instead of batteries.
There’s a new battlespace called “air-ground littoral” where quadcopters and fixed-wing VTOLs now dominate.
"Right at the back of the UAV [unmanned aerial vehicle], there is a system that absorbs much of the kinetic energy produced by the firing," S.A.S technology designer Christos Christou told Breaking Defense.
